(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 20, 2013 )San Francisco, CA -- During a meeting with the Ephrata Township supervisors on Tuesday, manager Steve Sawyer said that Lancaster County had long been providing the server that stored all digital data for Ephrata Townships Web pages. Now, however, a new ordinance would free the committee of handling each municipal website.
The websites includes ordinance and zoning information, as well as basic information on elected and appointed officials throughout the area, meeting agendas, and upcoming services and events. Effective at the beginning of next year, the county will contract with Civicplus, a local, kansas-based web hosting service for its online needs.
Sawyer noted that the township could join the countys contract, but the expected start up costs are around 4,000 dollars plus an annual maintenance and storage fee of 800 dollars. He says he has been collecting estimates from other web hosting companies, but theyre looking for the most affordable plans for the townships needs.
The county will continue to support local websites until the end of 2013, but a decision on whether the township will join the new contract is required by mid-November to get everything together by the end of the year.
