"Don't be shy to get them secondhand."
Hallay does point out that those interested in the look should avoid getting wrapped up in 'the dazzle' as overbeading and over-bejeweling one's self is easy to do. The concept of the 1920s was certainly to have things that sparkle, but not to have a sparkle from head-to-toe.
And while some men may desire the pale pink three-piece that Leonardo DiCaprio dawned in the movie, those in the know of fashion would advise many men stick to the basics of elegance. Darker colors with straight-forward underlying patterns is the best way to go for 90% of those seeking style.
