(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 16, 2013 ) Washington, DC -- Former Nanny and university student, Liz Smith-Founder of After Vintage-has launched a new line of Loom Band Kit, aimed at young girls to promote creativity and individualism. "Having worked with young girls in the past, I remember watching many of them suppress their creative abilities and fall in line with what society says a young girl should look like, what she should do, what she should be today. For many girls, life isn't a "Justice" ad. That can be scary and a lot of pressure is being placed on

young girls trying to figure themselves out".

Smith has worked extensively with children as a live-in and live-out nanny since her sophomore year of High School. When graduation approached, she felt she wanted more than a 9-5, she wanted to make a difference and still wanted to work with children on some level. "I decided to start a business that carried products promoting creativity among young girls. If I noticed anything through my tenure as a nanny, I noticed a struggle within my charges-'Should I be who I want to be or what society tells me to be?' and most importantly 'Who exactly do I want to be?' I wanted to change that".

Smith launched the Ultimate Jewelry Creationz Loom Band Kit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GP0ZHBG)in hopes to inspire creativity and individualism among young girls. Smith's kits include 600 bands in various colors and various charms that resemble gems. "I wanted our product to include charms that make girls feel beautiful" says Smith. The kits sell on Amazon.com for $25.98. So far according to Smith, feedback has been extremely positive. She's received support from previous employers and is eager to grow her business. "The support thus far has been overwhelming. I've spoken with many parents and they simply want to pry their children away from the tablet or the TV screen for a few minutes. For parents, a positive message to young girls is highly valuable-it's icing on the cake! ". Smith encourages girls to use the kits to make items with a purpose. "Create a bracelet for yourself, your mom, your teacher. Your sister or best friend. Allow your feelings to shine through your creation!".

Ultimately, After Vintage plans to expand their product line to include creativity-inspired products for not only girls but for boys as well. "I'm exploring with different options. I'm in constant contact with parents and I notice one common hurdle is replacing technology with other stimulating products. I want to help parents accomplish that".
