The research illustrates just how strong the flow of inbound and outbound business is for Europe, with the impact of economic problems in the Eurozone and elsewhere in recent years beginning to wane. For the first time in recent years, the survey predicts that the global economy will not impact conference business in the next 12 months, said Greenhill.
Ms West of Park Crescent Conference Centre said that the meeting industry in London has proven strong, with many organisations using meeting spaces for team-building exercises, conferences, and networking. We are a conference venue in London, and our business is thriving, Ms West said. We think businesses recognise the value of human contact individuals being able to connect with each other face to face. Those experiences help build connections and knowledge among participants, which are critical to business success.
Sixty-five percent of respondents said they used social media to communicate with attendees before, during or after conferences. Other research supports that technology plays an increasing role in modern meetings. For example, respondents to a recent study of conference-planning professionals 42 percent of respondents said that technology would become more important to the meetings industry in coming years.
Ms West said that their meetings easily incorporate technology to engage participants. For example, our company offers a range of audiovisual equipment as well as Wi-Fi to help make events memorable.
