(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 27, 2013 ) ST.LOUIS, I.L. Preliminary reports from the Fulton County Coroners Office identified the man who was killed in a semi-truck accident Friday, August 23 as 82-year-old Chellis Evans. The blunt-force impact that was caused by the accident was found to be the cause of death, and he died very shortly after officers arrived on the scene.
Evans sedan passed over the center line on Route 9 between Canton and Banner when he collided with an oncoming Hitchcock Scrapyard semi. According to the police report, Evans was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from his vehicle.
Crashes involving large, commercial vehicles are oftentimes deadly because of their size and weight. If a driver behaves negligently behind the wheel they can do severe damage to personal property and harm those they share the road with.
If you or someone you love was injured or killed in a truck accident because of another persons negligent behavior you may have a valid personal injury or wrongful death claim. Contact Tapella & Eberspacher today at (855) 522-5291 to learn what rights you have and how justice can be done for you.
