(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 18, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- For three weeks in a row Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has held the top position on the United Kingdoms charts of the best selling retail video games. Although the past three weeks have been relatively quiet, in terms of high profile releases, this unbroken streak is the longest run since 2007 when Forza Motorsport 2 held the top spot. The Xbox 360 platform is also one of the most popular gaming platforms in the United Kingdom as well as the world.
There were, however, a few new releases worth noting this week. JRPG Tales of Xillia, a quite beautiful debut, came in at fourth place. The video game took the spot from FIFA 13, which jumped to second place with the start of the Premiership season. Falling to fifth place this week but outselling Pikmin 3, Nintendo's last triple A release for the Wii U, which fell right off the top 20 charts all together, was Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
