Greece Sees Dip in Traveler Totals Reports Two Centre Holidays

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 26, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- There was a minor decline in the tourism traffic in Greece, as visiting numbers dropped by 5.2% in the first nine months of 2012. The numbers were released by the the Bank of Greece recently, who also noted receipts were also down from 2011.

Within 2012, traffic totaled 13.4 million individuals, which is down from 14.2 million over the same nine-month period in 2011. The receipt totals from tourism fell 3.2%.

Stay-overs also declined from 133.4 million to 126.7 million in the same time period.

The European Unions contribution to Greek tourism amounted to a just under two-thirds of the total. The 63.4% was a reduction of 8.3% from 2011, and most of that drop was due to the 11.7% decline in new arrivals from the eurozone. Arrivals from the EU to states outside the area declined 2.8%, which accounts for 3.42 million travelers.

There was a noted increase in visitors outside the EU, which rose 0.6% and increased their share of the total of foreign visitors by 2.1%. German market registered at 5.3% in decline, while the French arrivals dropped a whopping 14.4%. Visitors from across the Channel saw a large leap in totals, with a 15.3% surplus. The number of arrivals from Russia also saw a quality increase, as it jumped 23.7% in 2012. United States travelers were the worst mark, with a slump of 23.3% making their way to Greece.

Receipts from the EU visitors dropped to 5.94 billion euros, which constitutes a 6.7% decline, and is a 65.8% of the tourism in the year up to September. The receipts from non-EU tourists came in at 3.09 billion euros, and constitutes a drop of 4.1% from last year.

While the German and French receipts dropped to just over 2 billion euros in total, the British visitors had a growth in receipt. Russians brought in 32.1% more money into Greece as well.

The beef jerky drive is a co-oped effort by the supermarket chain and Fio-Lay. Uniteds Lubbock stores, which include the Amigos and Market Street locations, will be hosting the drop-off locations on Saturday. Stored in Littlefield, Levelland, Brownfield, and Lamesa will be offering drop-off locations as well.

The cooperative effort marks the second year that the companies will be working side-by-side. It is also the first that will see all the united stores participating.

The drive will collected close to $40,000 of beef jerky last year. Lubbock stores contributed nearly $23,000 of the total of jerky raised, according to the United Supermarkets director, Eddie Owens.

I think it goes without saying we should do everything within our power to support our troops, Owens said. This is a very little thing we can do, both for our customers and our stores.

Those interested in helping can donate at Frito-Lay tables inside the stores. United is set to drop its prices of Matador beef jerky by 20% as well as provide a coupon that will drop the total price by 40%, in an effort to spur the effort.

Frito-Lay previously collected beef jerky from United stores in Plainview, Post, and Dumas. The Slanton store operations manager noted that the drive went well.

It is for our troops; you have to support our troops, Stice said. Theyre risking their lives for us.

At the same location, Drew Clark, district sales leader, agreed the drive was a success. Clark added that the level of support in small towns is amazing.

It is wonderful to see how people are willing to give back to our soldiers, Clark said. It feels great; I feel honored to be able to do this.

I think we need to take care of the country by taking care of the people who take care of us, said Nancy Lopez, service manager for the Plainview United.

Lopez noted that her uncle served, and he appreciated the packages he received from home while serving abroad.

There are some things they cant get over there, she said, and they miss it.

If you cannot afford organic, check with farmers in your area who use organic practices or utlize very little pesticides or organic fertilizers on their plants. The naturally occuring enzymes, phytonutrients and vitamins that are embedded into fruits, veggies and nuts are the key to your health and longevity. Eat as much quantity as you like with no regrets.

(5) Go Online and Seek:  for raw recipes that will tantilize your taste buds. Make some of the simple ones for starters like kale salad which is fantastic and super easy to make. 

(6) Drink "Sexy Salsa" Water:  Simple to make and really quite palatable, use 16oz of wate raccented by 1/2 tsp of cayenne and 1/2 squeezed lemon. However, there will always be a place for hand-powered cleaning tools like mops and brooms, even in the largest of commercial cleaning outfits. But you can just grab a mop and get onto the job.” Speed is especially vital when cleaning spills, as this can reduce the risk of workplace accidents caused by wet, slippery surfaces. Dustpans and brushes are also easier to store accessibly in warehouses and the like where non-liquid spills often occur. “You need specialist training to operate a big automatic cleaning machine, but anyone can grab a dustpan and brush if you need to clean up broken glass or thing like that which need to be cleaned up quickly. You can store them under the workbench, too,” said the Anyclean representative.

Brooms are also more effective than automatic scrubbers in small spaces such as stairwells when used in the workplace, and are also more efficient for domestic cleaning. Schools and small businesses often find larger pieces of equipment to be beyond the budget, but mops and brooms can be picked up cheaply. “They’re fine for everyday cleaning,” said the Anyclean spokesperson, although he was quick to stress the need for deep cleaning on a regular basis. “If you can’t afford to hire a full-time janitor to provide the level of cleanliness needed to keep the place healthy, then you call in the contractors to do the deep stuff for you. That’s what we’re here for. But if you need to clean something big up in a hurry, you’ll need a broom or a mop. Every workplace should have one.”
